The Leitrim Matters crew have been busy travelling the roads of the county in recent weeks as they continue to profile the county on Irish TV.

Irish TV is a digital television channel covering events and stories all over Ireland, UK and the US.

Broadcasting 24 hours a day on Sky TV channel 191, Freesat channel 400 and online at www.irishtv.ie, the aim of Leitrim County Matters is to promote the very best people and stories that the county has to offer.

Making up the Leitrim County Matters Team are Ocean FM’s Francie Boylan and Michelle Gildea and Mick Donovan, while producing the show is Drumkeeran native Brenna Dolan. Together, they have visited some truly amazing places across the county.

January saw the crew travel to The Drowse Salmon Fishery in Kinlough, met up with the BNI (Business Network International) in Carrick-on-Shannon, chatted to Duke Special in the Glens Centre and sampled the atmosphere at the Packie Duignan Weekend in Drumshanbo.

On this weekend’s show, Michelle travels to Carrick-on-Shannon where she visited the Community School and learns a thing or two from Patrick Sweeney, Chloe Daniels and Annette Moran, recent runners-up in this year’s BT Young Scientist Competition.

She also caught up with Leitrim Superstar Charlie McGettigan and chatted to him about the song he has written for Kat Mahon, qualifier for this year’s Irish entry in The Eurovision Song Competition.

The show airs every Saturday evening at 6:30pm and then again at 3pm on Sunday afternoons.

Each show will also be available to stream on www.irishtv.ie.
