The Carrick-on-Shannon & District Historical Society monthly lecture will be held on Wednesday, February 18 at 8.30 pm, in The Bush Hotel.

Fergus Cleary, Designer, will discuss the History of Belleek, the oldest craft pottery in Ireland, known and loved by millions throughout the world

Belleek Pottery Ltd is a porcelain company that began trading in 1887 as the Belleek Pottery Works Company Ltd in Belleek, Co Fermanagh.

Since its founding, the various trademark designs used by Belleek have always included a wolfhound, a round tower, and a harp, all indicative of Ireland.

As a special treat, Fergus will be happy to identify and give a bit of history (but not value) of any pieces brought to the lecture.

For any items you do not wish to bring in, you can bring a photo of the piece and the trademark on the reverse and Fergus will tell you when it was made.

Admission is €5 /€3 concession, and free to Society Members. Society membership forms will be available as well.
