There is major concern among local schools that buses with ten children on routes will be axed.
The day includes a seven race all National Hunt card starting at 2.40pm with the last race at 5.55pm
Race Sponsors include Kennedy’s Bar Rockwood Parade Sligo; Guinness; European Breeders Fund.
Gates, Restaurant and Bars are all open from 12.30pm with Sunday lunch available.
Race organisers are advising punters to arrive early, park free of charge, have lunch and study form in the comfortable surrounds with the panoramic views of Benbulben.
Admission - Adults w15 - Senior Citizens and Students w10 with Group Discounts available
All children free.
Membership of the 2012 Sligo Race Supporters Club is still available and new members are welcome. Membership can be purchased on the day.
Racecourse Manager, Brian Kennedy, is hoping that the locals will come out in force and support the first meeting of the year.
