At a recent Boyle Area County Councillors meeting, Cllr Rachel Doherty raised the issue of the €4 parking charge which is in place at Lough Key Forest Park.

Ms Doherty claimed that the charge was exorbitant and a charge of €2 would be more reasonable. She said: “I believe far more people would pay to park for €2 rather than €4. We want people to enjoy their visit to Lough Key and not to feel stung by a parking charge.”

Ms Doherty also called on Roscommon County Council to provide a detailed update on the current status of the extension required for Kilronan Cemetery, while also asking the Council to examine the road between Shannon Gael Housing Estate and Carrick-on-Shannon train station.
