Gardai warn of icy conditions

Gardai are urging motorists to allow extra time for their journey this morning after widespread reports of black ice and frosty conditions around the county.

Gardai are urging motorists to allow extra time for their journey this morning after widespread reports of black ice and frosty conditions around the county.

Black ice has been reported on the road between Dowra and Drumshanbo and on the route from Mohill to Carrigallen.

Frosty conditions have also made travel on all secondary roads extremely hazardous.

Motorists are asked to slow down and ensure they leave extra space between their vehicle and the car in front of them.
