Temporary road closures have been put in place to facilitate events during the Carrick-on-Shannon Carnival 400 from May 31 to June 8.
On Friday, May 31 the road from the Leitrim Road/Main Street junction to the Bridge Street/N4 Junction; Quay St from the junction of Bridge Street to the Rowing Club; Priests Lane from St Patrick’s Park to Main Street and the link road from Priests Lane to the Leitrim Road will be closed between 8pm and 12 midnight.
On Saturday June 1 the St Mary’s Close/Main Street junction to the Bridge Street/N4 Junction and from the Quay Street junction of Bridge Street to the Rowing Club will be closed from 9pm to 12 midnight. The same roads will be closed on Sunday, June 2 between 8pm and 12 midnight.
On Wednesday June 5 the road from the junction of St Mary’s Close and Main Street will be closed to the junction of Main Street and Bridge Street between 8pm and 12 midnight, while on Saturday, June 8 the road from the Park Lane/Main Street junction to the Bridge Street/ N4 junction and the road from the Quay Street junction of Bridge Street to the Rowing Club, will both be closed from 9pm until 12 midnight.
During these road closures public parking on Quay Street from the junction of the Rowing Club to St George’s Terrace will be prohibited and this section of Quay Street will allow two way traffic.
The alternative route to an from the Main Street/Bridge Street area during this time will be along the Old Dublin Road to the Shannon Roundabout on the N4 and moving to the N4 roundabout at the junction of the Bridge and vice versa.
The alternative route to and from Priests Lane will be along the LP3398 to Hartley, LP 3400 to Leitrim Road and R280-2 to Main Street and vice versa.
