Leitrim signs up to Age Friendly Cities

Cathaoirleach of Leitrim County Council, Cllr Enda Stenson signed the Dublin Declaration on Age Friendly Cities and Communities in Europe 2013 at an international event held in the King’s Inns, Dublin on Thursday, June 13

The historic Declaration aims to future-proof County Letrim by creating a community that is suitable for both old and young generations.

The Dublin Declaration expresses the clear and strong commitment of political leaders to make their communities more age-friendly and commits signatories to undertake a continuous cycle of improvement through a planning process supported by participation in the WHO’s Global Network of Age Friendly Cities.

Cllr Stenson was among 22 Irish Mayors, Deputy Mayors and Cathaoirligh who signed the Declaration. Representatives from Croatia, France, Spain, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, the UK, and Austria also signed the Declaration.
