Mohill woman killed in accident named locally

A pedestrian fatally injured after she was struck by a car on the R201 on the outskirts of Mohill on Saturday evening, has been named locally as Breege O’Carolan of Glebe Street, Mohill.

A pedestrian fatally injured after she was struck by a car on the R201 on the outskirts of Mohill on Saturday evening, has been named locally as Breege O’Carolan of Glebe Street, Mohill.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses following the accident which occurred shortly after 5pm.

Mrs O’Carolan sustained serious injuries in the accident and was taken by ambulance to Sligo General Hospital but she passed away a short time later. The driver of the car was uninjured.

The R201 was closed to traffic last night and forensic collision investigators are examining the scene this morning.
