McGloin calls for meeting

Fine Gael councillor, Enda McGloin, has called on Acting County Manager, Martin Dolan, to convene a special SPC meeting of Leitrim County Council to discuss the implementation of the new Waste By Laws.

Fine Gael councillor, Enda McGloin, has called on Acting County Manager, Martin Dolan, to convene a special SPC meeting of Leitrim County Council to discuss the implementation of the new Waste By Laws.

Although the Council has agreed to defer the introduction of the pay-by-weight system, Cllr McGloin said many people are still confused about the system.

Cllr McGloin has asked the County Manager to facilitate officials from the Waste Companies operating in the County at this SPC meeting alongside senior officials from the Environment Section of the Council, members of the SPC and other members of the local authority.

“I believe that this initiative would prove fruitful in terms of looking at ways of addressing issues around quarterly costs & collection routes in rural areas”
