Lightning causes power outage

Thunder and lightning on Monday, March 31 across County Leitrim caused a number of areas to be without power for a few hours.

Thunder and lightning on Monday, March 31 across County Leitrim caused a number of areas to be without power for a few hours.

Some homes had to endure flickering lights, while others were without power for one to two hours.

ESB noted there was a lot of lightning in the Mayo and Leitrim and this damaged the power networks. All power was restored.
