The aroma of agricultural success

It’s been the bane of many an agricultural household but now one ‘ahem’ enterprising Leitrim business has sought to cash in on the distinctive aroma of silage with Eau de Silage.

The cheeky ad, placed on donedeal.ie recently by the aptly titled seller, ‘Bale Pitt’, is a marketers dream.

“Farmers know there is no better smell then the smell of fresh silage,” says the sales blub.

“For women who are after farmers there is nothing more alluring than the waft of silage off a fellah - it means theres plenty of fodder for the winter.

“Dab a bit behind your ears before you go out to the Macra disco and you’ll be beating them off with a sprong”.

Well that’s a ringing endorsement for any perfume. So ditch your big brand aftershave and invest in something a bit more, well, smelly.

Best of all it’s at the bargin price of just €45 a bottle, perfect for that townie lad you know who isn’t lucky enough to have enough road frontage to attract a lady at the local disco.

Sadly there is no advice provided by Bale on just how to stop hungry cattle following you home from a big night out if you’re covered in the smell of silage....but maybe that’s a small price to pay for popularity.
