Carrick-on-Shannon businesswoman Adeline Galligan is urging runners, joggers and walkers to put their “best foot forward” and sign up to the Halloween 5Km Night Run & Fun which will take place on 29th October at 6:30pm in Carrick on Shannon.

The race will start at Watercare, (The Hive), Castlcarra Road and do a loop ending back at Watercare. The course will be fully lit the whole way around.

To add to the fun, Adeline has arranged extra entertainment including kids’ face painting, live music & of course Halloween costumes are a must.

The endeavour is all part of Adeline’s fundraising effort for her participation in the Great Ethiopian run in the historic city of Addis Ababa in November. Adeline is competing in the race in aid of the children’s development NGO, Plan Ireland.

Plan has been working in Ethiopia since 1974 and since then has helped thousands of marginalised children get access to decent water and sanitation facilities, healthcare services.
