28-year-old man killed in collision on Fenagh/Ballinamore Road

A 28-year-old man has died following a two vehicle collision at the townland of Longstone on the R202 between Fenagh and Ballinamore. The incident happened at approximately 3pm yesterday when the man who was travelling on a motorcylce, collided with a jeep towing a trailer.

A 28-year-old man has died following a two vehicle collision at the townland of Longstone on the R202 between Fenagh and Ballinamore. The incident happened at approximately 3pm yesterday when the man who was travelling on a motorcylce, collided with a jeep towing a trailer.

He has been named by Gardaí as Damien Rogan from Tooman, Mohill. Mr Rogan was pronounced dead at the scene before his body was removed to Sligo Regional Hospital where a post-mortem is due to take place today.

The road remains closed to facilitate a forensic collision investigation and local diversions are in place. It is expected to re-open this afternoon (Thursday, 19). No other injuries were reported.
