Monsignor Liam Kelly, PP Kill-Drung and native of Aughawillan has been appointed as Vicar General of the Diocese following the retirement of Monsignor Michael Cooke who has been Vicar General since 2001. Monsignor Kelly was ordained a priest in 1978, he was Director of Parish Development and Renewal in the diocese from 1995 and later Coordinator of Jubilee Celebrations in 1999-2000. Monsignor Kelly is a well-known author and historian who has published many articles and several books.

He is currently engaged in work on the history of the Diocese of Kilmore from 1100 up to 1800.

Bishop O’Reilly has appointed two priests from the Missionary Society of St Paul of Nigeria to parishes in the diocese of Kilmore. Fr Addison Okpeh has been appointed as curate in Shercock in the parish of Killann, he was ordained in 1997, he served for several years in Lagos, Nigeria and is currently in Southwark in England.

Fr Peter Okpetu has been appointed curate in Cavan, he was ordained in 2014 and has served in a large suburban parish on the outskirts of Abuja, the Federal Capital of Nigeria.

Fr Enda Murphy a native of Derrylin, Co Fermanagh has been appointed by the Vatican Secretariat of State to serve in the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Sacraments of the Roman Curia.

Rev. Ultan McGoohan C.C. Cavan to go on study leave.

Rev. Michael Gilsenan SSCC (Sacred Heart Father) to be curate in Maudabawn from 1st December 2015.
