€218,000 sports capital funding for Leitrim

The Government has announced funding of €218,475 for for eight sports clubs and organisations under the Sports Capital Programme 2015.

The Co. Leitrim organisations are:

• Aughavas GAA Club (€10,000)

• Aughnasheelin GAA Club (€35,000)

• Dromahair Arts & Recreation Centre

(€70,000)

• Drumkeerin GAA Club (€10,000)

• Drumstrand Community Partnership

Co. Ltd (€15,000)

• Glencar Community Park (€18,000)

• Gortletteragh GAA Club (€48,475)

• Manorhamilton Community Tennis

(€12,000).

Selected allocations in Co Roscommon

are:

• Boyle GAAClub (€32,000)

• Boyle Golf Club (€55,000)

• Carrick-on-Shannon Golf Club (€14,000)

• Croghan Enterprise Co. Ltd (€15,000)

• Kilmore GAA Club (€7,342)

• Lough Keel Scout Group (€38,000)

• Shannon Gaels GAA Club (€15,000)

• Strokestown Co-Op Community Centre

Ltd (€15,000)

Co Donegal:

• Ballyshannon Basketball Club (€20,000)

• Ballyshannon Rugby Football Club

Co: Sligo:

• Ballygawley Community Park (€7,000)

Local politicians have welcomed the allocations including Frank Feighan, John Perry, Michael Comiskey, Paschal Mooney and Susan O’Keeffe.

Frank Feighan, said the funding for sports clubs and organisations in Roscommon and Leitrim is great news and a great boost for local communities. “I am delighted that 25 clubs and organisations across Roscommon and Leitrim have been rewarded for their efforts in promoting the benefits of sport in their local communities,” he said.
