When people attend the Conference in King House on Friday 27th September they will be celebrating the phenomenal growth and development in the last twenty years.
That is the length of time the Boyle Counselling & Psychotherapy Centre has been in existence as part of the Family Life Centre.
Members of the public are especially welcome to attend. The conference celebrates the links with the Community that have been forged over the last 20 years.
Hundreds of Parents, Couples and Families have trusted the Boyle Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre and hence the strong links with the local community.
That link has been reinforced by Community Leaders within the Community and Voluntary sectors. Health Professionals continuously validate the Service by making referrals.
The topics that will be discussed at the Conference will be those issues encountered daily in family homes.
The speakers will address family issues, couple issues, bereavement, anxiety and depression through the lens of Hope and Change.
Realities within family life such as bullying and poor communication will be addressed.
The integration of differences such as disability will be explored.
This day will serve to encourage many to see the normality and commonality of such issues as mentioned.
The fact that locals now freely access the Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre is testament to the trustworthiness in which the Staff of the Centre is held.
Underpinning that trust is a commitment to professionalism.
In order to be a professional therapist today, Denise O’Dowd, Director, says, people have at least four years core training with continuous professional development and supervision being mandatory to practice.
Denise and team thank the community for availing of the service, and thank their sister project the Boyle Family and Community Resource Centre, for their support and referrals over the years.
They look forward to welcoming you to the Conference.
Booking is essential before 20th September.
