Tickets are €5 each and are available by contacting Karen at 086 8101467. This promises to be a great evening, and will be run as part of Drumshanbo Tidy Town’s Waste Prevention Programme.

In Ireland almost 1 million tonnes of food is thrown out each year, and of this householders throw out about 300,000 tonnes. About one third of the food purchased in Ireland is disposed of, it has been estimated that typical savings of about €700 a year are possible – that’s roughly €60 a month which would help with bills, especially in these difficult times. To help avoid waste, Drumshanbo Tidy Towns advises to plan your meals (which will also help with costs), stick to your shopping list, buy your fruit and vegetables las and know your food dates - sue by are different to best before!

To plan your Christmas feasts with ease please attend the informative demonstration by Sham in Drumshanbo on December 10.
