Glenfarne BBQ Ketty's pub Glenfarne IS holding a summer BBQ on Sunday evening, July 11th at 8pm.

The BBQ is to raise funds for the Glenfarne Kiltyclogher GAA club. Following on from the success of the last BBQ we hope everyone will come out again and show their support and tell their friends. Adults p5 and children free. Club draw will also take place on the night and an open air disco.

Country Comes To Town

The first major fundraising Event 'COUNTRY COMES TO TOWN' is organised for August 18th in The Great Northern Hotel Bundoran. A Gala Summer Country & Western Concert,t with a superb line out of renowned artists performing such as Mick Flavin, John Hogan, Nathan Carter, Lisa Stanley,

TR Dallas, Ray Lynam, Carrie & Leanne Benn, Sean Loughrey, Brendan Quinn, Carmel McLoughlin, and John Farry. Host and Compere for the evening is Marian Fitzgerald (Ocean FM).

NLGlens Run/Walk

NLGlens Run/Walk training with Ronan the Motivator in the Bee Park on Sat 10th at 10.00am. Come along, do some stretching, warm up and get basic tips to get out, get fit and get walking or running for the big event on Sept 11th. FS/Library Programmes

FS and Leitrim libraries, including Manorhamilton, are offering a number of courses, which are available free on-line. E-Learning at the library is a wonderful opportunity for people to develop and improve their IT skills with each learner being assigned a FS facilitator who will assist them as they learn.

Courses available include ECDL, Microsoft Office Specialist in Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint, First Aid -CPR, Fire Prevention & Safety, and Success over Stress, Book Keeping and many more.

Farmers Market

The Manor Origin Farmers Market will take place on this Friday, July 9 from 10am to 2pm at the Bee Park Community Centre where it will serve the north Leitrim and Manorhamilton areas with excellent organic food and vegetable produce as usual.

The Market, which celebrated its fifth anniversary in business recently is delighted to welcome the following new producers: Kearns Organic Growers, Rooskey County Roscommon – certified organic growers, producers and suppliers of a wide range of vegetables, fruits and herbs; and O'Brien's, Drumsna, County Leitrim – suppliers of Laying Hens, Pullets, Ducks, and hatching eggs, as well as organic eggs, which are all for sale.

All the regular suppliers will be in attendance in addition to the new vendors at the Farmers Market on this Friday. Your support will be greatly appreciated when you drop in to purchase any of the excellent items that are on sale at Manor's Origin Farmers Market.

First Bingo

Manor's first bingo session of the month takes place on this Wednesday night, July 7 at 9pm in the Bee Park Community Centre. There will be plenty of prizes to be won on the lines and pages during what will be another thrilling bingo session in north Leitrim's capital town.

Cluainin Voluntary Housing

Cluainin Voluntary Housing Association is currently seeking tenancy for two family type houses in Manorhamilton. Application forms are available for these house and intended applicants should write for them to Cluainin Voluntary Housing, Upper Main Street Manorhamilton to commence the application process.

PTAA Vigil

The annual North Leitrim and West Cavan Pioneer Total Abstinence Association Mini Vigil takes place in St. Brigid's Church, Killargue on this Friday night, July 9 starting at 9pm and concluding at 12midnight. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Centenary Photo

Everyone from the Mullies Parish is requested to attend Mass in the Church of the Annunciation on Sunday, July 18 at 9.30am as a photo of the parishioners and the Church will be taken after Mass that will be included in the Mullies Church Book, when it is published during the church's centenary celebrations on the first weekend of June 2011.

A fundraising flowers and cake sale will take place for church funds in conjunction with the Blessing of the Graves on this Sunday, July 11. Arrangements will be made to collect the flowers and cakes for the Cake and Flowers on previous Saturday evening at the Church.

Mass Rock Mass

Mass will be celebrated at Leckanarainey Mass in Mullies for the first time since Penal Times on Sunday afternoon August 8. Recently a local group tidied up Leckanarainey Mass Rock as part of the preparations for the celebration of the building of the Church of the Annunciation next June.

Blessing of the Graves

The annual Blessing of the Graves ceremonies will take place in the St. Clare's Church Cemetery Manorhamilton on Sunday, July 25 at 5pm and in Cloonclare Cemetery at 6.30pm.

Pop/Hip-Hop Classes

Pop/Hip-Hop dance classes will start in The Depot, Dromahair on Wednesday evening, July 14 from 6 to 8 o'clock for 6 to 12 year olds. Call Amy on 087-9947122 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting to book a place as there are limited spaces available.

Golf Classic

The Glencar/Manorhamilton annual Golf Classic takes place at Blacklion Golf Club on this Saturday, July 10. All who wish to participate in it are asked to book their teeing off time with Gerry Hickey (Senior).

Holy Land Pilgrimage

A ten-day West of Ireland pilgrimage to the Holy Land is being currently organised from Monday, September 6 to Tuesday, September 10.

This pilgrimage will depart from Knock Airport and go directly to the Israeli capital Tel Aviv while it will cost p1,095 per pilgrim. Fr. Tom Surlis will be the Spiritual Director for the pilgrimage.

The West of Ireland Holy Land Pilgrimage organiser is Nancy Surlis from Tubbercurry. Nancy strongly advises intending pilgrims to the Holy Land to book early as it is already heavily booked.

Research Project

The Institute of Technology Sligo is currently recruiting young people to join them in taking part in a research project, which is currently underway at IT, Sligo to develop a health educational resource. For more information on this research project contact Gail Cummins on 086-6685630.

Fatima Pilgrimage

A one-week West of Ireland Pilgrimage to Fatima is being organised at the moment for this autumn.

It will depart from Knock Airport on Thursday, October 7and the pilgrimage will take in the special closing ceremonies at the Fatima Shrine on Tuesday, October 12 and Wednesday, October 13.
