Bingo: Bingo continues on Thursday night in the Centre Drumsna at 8.30pm. Last week’s winners included Majella Reynolds, Eileen O’Brien, Peggy O’ Rourke, Raffle Jimmy Bohan, Chris Murray, Charles Beirne. Free books Geraldine Bohan, Marian Casserly.

Drumsna Family and Vintage day: Drumsna Family and Vintage Day takes place on Sunday, June 16th with fun and games for all the family. Commencing at 2pm. with opening by well known Shannon side personality Brendan Farrell and Blessing by Fr John Wall P. P. M.C. for the day the very capable Gerry Mc Garry. As well as the fantastic Vintage display ,there is the Quay Street café if you feel like a cuppa, there are bouncy castles, throw the wellie, Cock –a-doodle poo where you can guess where Mel Rowleys now famous Cockrel will poo, Sand bag throwing ,bric –a brac stall, have your blood pressure taken, Children’s treasure hunt with John Darlington, face painting, children’s art, dog show, butter making, Rope making and much much more. The silver medallist winners at the community games ‘’Drumsna Straw boys’’ will give a demonstration of their silver toed dancing at 3pm. Please come along and support your local tidy towns committee. Lines are also on sale at €2 Euro for the draw to be held in Duignans on the Sunday night with dancing to the Drifting Cowboy. First prize half a tonne of coal sponsored by Duignan’s, 2nd, €75, 3rd €50, 4th afternoon tea for two at Kilronan Castle Hotel.

Defibrillator Thanks: Annaduff Drumsna, Jamestown Defibrillator committee would like to thank most sincerely Drumsna Development Association for their recent donation. This goes towards the upkeep and maintenance of the defibs in these areas. If there is anyone who would like to be trained in AED please contact 086 2639753.

Congratulations: Special congratulations are extended to Margo and J.J. Carley, Furnace on the occasion of their 40th Wedding anniversary which took place recently. We wish them both many more years of wedded bliss.

Book Launch: The launch of the special Fleadh booklet on Wednesday last in the Centre, Drumsna by Cathy Jordan of ‘’Dervish’’ was packed to capacity. Councillor Sinead Guckian welcomed everyone and introduced the Cathaorleach Enda Stenson who was M.C. for the evening. The book is packed with pictures and memories of Fleadhs gone by and was produced to commemorate the return of the Connacht Fleadh to Carrick-on-Shannon after 51 years. The booklet is on sale locally for €5 and is a wonderful collection of traditional music happenings in Co. Leitrim. It especially celebrates Drumsna and Mohill Comhaltas and their service to traditional music in the area and is well worth a read .

Alzheimer Collection: Thanks is extended to all those who contributed so generously to the Church gate collection at Masses in the Parish last weekend. Thanks is also extended to those who gave of their time to take up the collection, it is much appreciated. The amount came €376.57.
