Aughavas Gathering: 
The Aughavas Gathering weekend will take place on Friday 9 August to Sunday 11 August 2013. A number of events are being organised in the parish which include, parish records on display in the school, drama and music in the Community Centre, art and craft exhibition and workshops, football and family fun day in the GAA park.  Exhibitions of photographs and memorabilia on the bygone era of country shops and dance halls in the parish will be on display. All who have grave location forms for the Old Graveyard, please return them to the FÁS Office in the Parochial House, Aughavas, for information on this contact 086 2072550. The Gathering Committee are asking for “your help” with providing & serving refreshments in the school, on Sunday the 11th Aug after the blessing of the graves ceremony, where parish records will be on display. We would be very grateful if you could make, bake or donate something  (the School will be open on the Saturday evening from 7-8pm for donations). Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock: 
The Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock will take place on Sunday 1 September 2013. Ceremonies begin at 2. 30 p.m. with the Anointing of the Sick and Mass will be celebrated @ 3pm.

Glen Prince - Newtowngore Reunion: 
Did you work in Newtowngore Textile factory during the 70’s 80’s 90’s and the 00’s.  If so please come along to Gorby’s Newtowngore on Friday 23 August to catch up with old friends for a night of Music, Dance and Craic.  All of this and more for €10. Light refreshments will be served.  After expenses, all remaining monies will be donated to North West Hospice.  If you plan to join us on the night please call or text Gladys 087 2786906 Kathleen 0876459962 Bernadette 0879344229 or Margaret 0871216901 or email donohoesb@eircom.net before 30 July.  

The Church and Evolution: 
Anthony Nevard from the Catholic publication ‘Daylight’ will be giving a talk entitled ‘The Church and Evolution’ on Thursday 1st of August at 8pm in St Anne’s convent Mohill. Refreshments afterwards. All welcome.

Climbing, Running and Walking: 
Congratulations to all who done the Walk for Talk from Cloone to Aughavas on Saturday last and raised funds for STOP suicide and Aware.  The Croagh Patrick annual climb took place on Sunday with a big crowd from Aughavas climbing, so there maybe a few sore musles this week.
