Leitrim Treasure launch: Leitrim has long been famed as a centre for tradition, heritage and culture. It has been said that it could indeed become the Arts capital of Ireland. Nowhere is this tradition more pronounced than in the northern part of the county and so it is that the book Leitrim Treasure, due for launch on Wednesday, 7th Aug., contains numerous stories of historical, social and human interest and such is the depth of the attachment to the place that many families are making their way back from different parts of the world for the occasion. Proceedings commence with a talk by Mickey Harte on “The Value of Community” in the Bush Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon at 8.30 pm. Admission free. Refreshments served. Everyone welcome.
