Warning to Dog Owners

Farmers have suffered great sheep losses in and around Leitrim as a result of vicious dogs attacking their flocks. Leitrim County Council stresses that it is especially important to ensure that your dog is kept in a secure place at night-time. Even the most docile family pet can turn into a killer when roaming with a pack of dogs.

Community Wardens will carrying out door-to-door inspections during the coming weeks checking dog licences and ensuring that owners kept their dogs until control.
