Memorial Mass and blessing of plaque tonight (Wed.) at 8.00 pm in remembrance of Rev. Edward O’Reilly former Parish Priest of Drumreilly Upper whose remains are interred in the Church grounds. Everyone welcome and refreshments served afterwards in the Community Centre. Mass on Thursday at 7.30 pm and on Saturday at 8.00 pm. Servers are Group 2 with Elaine Lavin in charge. Our congratulations to Karl Mc Cartin, Keelrin and Lisa Mc Cullagh, Drumalee who received the Sacrament of Marriage in St. Brigid’s Church, Killygarry on Friday last.

As this is the time of year for many of our family, friends and exiles to return for Re-Unions, The Gathering and Festivals what better memory for them to take home than a copy of the Leitrim Guardian which is available in all the usual outlets and bookshops.

Pretty Leitrim-Cavan Wedding:
The beautiful summer weather enhanced the enjoyment of the occasion on Friday last when Mr. Karl McCartin N.T. son of Charlie and Marian McCartin, Keelrin and Miss Lisa McCullough N.T. daughter of Seán and Eilish McCullough, Drumalee, Cavan exchanged their marriage vows in St. Bridget’s Church, Killygarry, Cavan. The ceremony with Nuptial Mass was performed by Fr. Ultan McGoohan, Cavan, Fr. Denis Murray, Carrigallen-Drumreilly, Fr. Kevin Donohoe and Fr. John McMahon, Manorhamilton. The bride, who was given away by her father Seán, was attended by bridesmaids Mary Whelan and Majella McCartin. The Best Man was Mr. Dermot McCartin, and Mr. Paul Cullen was groomsman. Messrs Darren Bannon and Seán McCullough acted as ushers. The Page Boy was Declan McCullough. The Lessons from Sacred Scripture were taken by Seán McCullough and Darren Bannon. The Prayers of the Faithful were recited by Nicole McCullough, Emer Woods, Pat McPartland, Marian Kiernan, Sandra Murphy and Siobhán McCartin. Parents Eilish McCullough and Marian McCartin bore the Offertory Gifts. The Communion Reflection was read by Melissa Boylan. Church Music and vocals were contributed by Deirdre and Therese McCartin. The reception afterwards was held in the Kilmore Hotel, Cavan. Lobby Music was provided by John McCartin and Co. Following a sumptuous meal the guests disported themselves at an enjoyable Social where Power Struggle keeping feet a- tapping, and further entertainment was provided by an impressive display by members of the McCartin S.D. The revels continued with a lively Disco with music by Power Struggle. We congratulate Karl and Lisa, and wish them many years of happy marriage in their new home in Nedd.

New Arrival: 
Heartiest congratulations to Shane and Margaret Townsend on the birth of their twin boys Scott and Harry, and to proud grandparents Haroldand Betty Taylor, Clonboyher. D. G.

Well Done: 
It is with pleasure that we congratulate enterprising farmers John and Graeme Taylor. Clonboyher on being adjudged the owners of the Overall Champion Herd in the West Midlands (Longford, Westmeath, Roscommon and Leitrim) Friesian Breeders competition for the fourth year in a row. Their herd has also emerged as the overall champion in the Breffni Oriel (Cavan and Monaghan) Holstein Friesian Breeders Herds competition.

Ladies Football: 
Well done to Aughawillan team on their 2-7 to 0-8 win over St. Joseph’s in an exciting Ladies Senior Championship in Aughnasheelin last weekend.

Recalling July 1993: 
Wedding bells rang in St. Mary’s Church, Drumlea for Johnny McGee, Drumkeerin and Teresa Connolly, Ardunsaghan. Forty three St. Mary’s Band members enjoyed their coach tour to Bundoran. Drumreilly U-12s turned an interval six points deficit into a four point victory against Carrigallen in their Div. 2 final in Cloone, and following a 1-8 all draw were beaten in by 0-13 to 0-9 in the Rural Final replay. Tomás Mimna and Rosie Bannon, and Jamesy Maguire and Martina Heavey had announced their engagements. The death took place of Mr. Pee Moran, Clooneen, Cloone, Mr. Dan Kiernan, Mullaghmore, and of Mrs. Mary Kiernan, Aughalough. R. I. P.

Active Age Snippets: 
Chairperson Tess Gallogly presided at the weekly meeting of DrumreillyActive Age Group on last Wednesday night in the Community centre. The recent enjoyable outing to Bundoran and Rosnowlagh was reviewed. Among other items on the agenda were plans for a Pitch and Putt session in Cornafean on this Wednesday July 24th at 3.00 p.m., the pilgrimage to Lough Derg on September Tuesday 3rd and a possible trip (depending on availability of numbers) to Carlow 8th - 12th of September. Cemetery Sunday: 
Following 11.30 a.m. Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Drumlea on Sunday last the burial plots in Drumlea and Ardunsaghan cemeteries were blessed by Fr. Denis Murray P.P. The Rosary was recited by Mrs. Bridie Mulligan.A record crowd attended.

Lotto Draw Results: 
The following were the results of the Lotto Draw on July 17th: The numbers drawn were 9, 18, 20 and 21. There was no Jackpot winner.
