Friendly Ballinamore:
“It’s a bit of a mouthful, isn’t it? The Friendly Town. It kinda gets your back up, doesn’t it? Come on then, prove it to me, be friendly. An evocative title, a presumptive assumption, you might say. Being the awkward customer that I am I decided to put it to the test, and fight it all the way. I intended to form my own impressions. I decided to figure out this Friendly Town slogan, was it genuine or just a gimmicky catch phrase conjured up by some clever public relations guy?” Find out how this curious visitor got on in Ballinamore in ‘Leitrim Treasure’ which will be launched in the Bush Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon on Wednesday, Aug 7th at 8.30pm following a talk by Mickey Harte on “The Value of Community”. Admission free. Refreshments served. Everyone welcome.
