Homecoming and Schools Reunion Draw: At the Cloone Homecoming and Schools Reunion Draw held on June 29th in Creegan’s, the following were the prize winners. First prize: Two tickets in the Sir Alex Ferguson stand to a Man United fixture in the 2013/2014 season plus a three course meal for two, sponsored by Margaret McManus/Mitchell. Winner: James Moran, Clooneen, Cloone. Second prize: Two tickets to Jessie J at the 02 in October, sponsored by Eugene Mitchell, Keeldra, Cloone. Winner: Conor Tiernan c/o Shane Tiernan, Cloone. Third prize: €50 sponsored by Cloone Homecoming and Schools Reunion Winner: Deirdre Smith, Longford. Fourth prize: Bottle of Irish Whiskey sponsored by Charlie and Mary Mitchell, Streamstown. Winner: Daniel Jones, Sligo. Fifth prize: Bottle of wine, sponsored by Oliver O’Higgins, Cloone. Winner: Lorraine Brennan, Cloone. An excellent night was enjoyed by all present and the Chairman, Seamus Tiernan thanked the sponsors of the prizes and everyone else who helped to make the event such a success. He also complimented Michael Moran on providing an excellent night’s music.
Show Fundraiser: The committee of Cloone Agricultural Show are holding a fundraising night in Fox’s Bar, Tooman on Saturday, July 13th. Music is by Eddie Quinn (Ex. Mighty Avons). There will be a raffle for valuable prizes and your support would be appreciated. The committee wish to thank everyone who supported their last fundraiser in “The Abbey Bar”, Fenagh, Dermot McConnell and Cajun Country for supplying the music, all the donors of spot prizes and the Conefrey family for their support and assistance with the event.
Cloone Homecoming and School ReUnion: Don’t forget our Duathlon takes place on sunday the 28th.July at 12 o clock. The event starts at Cloone G.A.A. park with a 2 kilometer run followed by a 10 kilometer cycle and finishes with a 8 kilometre bogland trail run with obstacles. Participants can take part in all three events or any single one event or form a team of three to complete each individual element. There will also be a 5 kilometre walk along bogland trail.
