The Annaduff Parish Gathering: 
The Parish gathering is living up to it’s name with hundreds of Annaduff natives getting ready to converge on every end of the Parish for the last weekend in July. There is a wonderful menu of Traditional singing ,dancing and music, Historical tours etc. The programme is almost complete and leaflets and posters will soon be ready. The weekend commences on Friday evening July 26th with a ‘’Welcome Home’’ evening in Annaduff G.A.A. Centre with well known singer and songwriter Fionnuala Maxwell as M.C. where the talent of the Parish will be on show.
On Saturday morning a bus tour covering the top end of the Parish will take place from 10am until 1pm led by Des Guckian who has published many books of interest, including Fr. Manning, The History of Annaduff G.A.A. The History of Annaduff called The Annals of Annaduff, a few copies of these books will be available on the day. 
The tour which starts in the car park of St. Mary’s Church Annaduff includes visits to Co. Leitrim’s tidiest town, Dromod , Derrycarne, St. Ann’s Graveyard and the Abbey grounds together with references to many places in between. The bus costs 5 Euro per head. Visitors may also like to avail of the Genealogy service provided by Des. All interested are asked to make contact as soon as possible. Lunch may be had in Cox’s Steakhouse, Dromod at 1pm after the tour. Booking is advisable at 071 96 38234. 
Also on Saturday will be The Francis Lynch memorial football blitz for National School children, there will be lots of interesting side shows at the pitch including Boxty making demo. On Saturday evening a ceili mor takes place in the G.A.a. centre for young and old, so get the dancing shoes ready.
Sunday morning sees ‘’Welcome to the Gathering’’ Church Services with Mass in Drumsna at 9.30am, Service in St. Ann’s church of Ireland at 10am, Mass in Annaduff at 11am. Everyone is welcome to attend all or any of the churches. There will then be a slot of free time ( for chatting ) until after Lunch. At 3.30pm a lower end of the Parish a walking tour of the Historical village of Drumsna led by Noel Duignan takes place.
Visit the Shannon Quay side, the Shannon side walk at the oldest bridge on the Shannon, the grave of ExplorerThomas Heazle Parke, the Robert Strawbridge Monument , the Inn where novelist Anthony Trollope commenced the writing of the Macdermots of Ballycloran, the Church of the Immaculate Conception with it’s beautiful stained glass windows and much more, Patricia O’Reilly will bring the children on their own magical tour of Fairyland at the same time. (If the weather is unfavourable a talk will take place instead of the walk) Afterwards everyone is invited to the Drumsna Community Centre for a step back in time where locals will re- enact some old time traditions and fun. You might even meet the future Rose of Tralee there. Light refreshments will be provided afterwards.
It’s then on to Duignan’s for a social dancing session. Please inform your families and friends of this greatweekend where you may meet some one that you have not seen for years.If you would like to volunteer to help out on the weekend please attend a meeting in Annaduff N.School on Monday, July 15th at 9 p.m.

Autumn Tour:
Our 4 day Autumn tour takes place this year from Thursday August 22nd to Sunday August 25th incl. Coach pick up in Rooskey Thursday a.m and coach stays with us for duration of Tour which takes us around the Lakeland Counties of Fermanagh, Monaghan, and Cavan. Wednesday Orienteering League: 
Wednesday Orienteering league in Derrycarne woods, Annaduff on Wednesday 10th & 17th of July. This league will suit beginners, walkers and families with buggies. No knowledge of the sport needed to take part. Free tuition will be given to new beginners. 2 courses available for beginners and seniors.
Open registration from 18.00pm-19.15pm, €5 per entry. Come with your family or friends and enjoy a lovely walk in the woods while learning a new skill and being active. Check out Sligo Orienteering Club on Facebook or ring 087 2657630 after 6pm for more details.
Will be signposted from Carrick and the Dromod Roundabout using the white and orange orienteering markers. Then put your new skill to use by coming to Clooncahir Woods, Lough Rynn, Mohill on Sunday July 14th for an Orienteering Competition from 12pm-14.00pm. There will be a beginners and advanced course.

Medjugorge:

Bingo continues in Drumsna Community Centre on Thursday night at 9 p.m.

Lough Derg:

St. Mary’s Church, Annaduff reopens:
The newly refurbished St. Mary’s Church, Annaduff re-opens on Saturday next 13th July with Mass at 7 p..m. and Sunday 14th at 11 a.m. Monday 7 p.m. followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until 8 p.m. Holy Hour Duty: Gerry O’Connor, Milly McNally, Mona Guckian, Marian Casserly. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9 a.m. Friday (No Mass), Saturday Vigil Mass 7 p.m. Sunday 11 a.m.

Pilgrimage to Knock:
Year of Faith Pilgrimage to Knock takes place on Sunday September 1st. Ceremonies begin at 2.30 p.m. with the annointing of the sick and Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m.
Year of Faith Pattern Day in Clonmacnois will take place on Sunday September 15th at 3 p.m..

Fr. Gerry’s 40th anniversary: 
Parish priest of Bornacoola, Fr. Gerry O’Brien celebrated 40 years of priesthood recently and to mark the occasion on Friday next, July 12th Fr Gerry will celebrate Mass at 8pm in St Michael’s Church Bornacoola, following that there will be a gathering of parishioners and friends for some refreshments in Bornacoola Community Centre. All are welcome.

Lotto draw:
The Parish and G.A.A. Lotto took place in Cox’s Steakhouse, Dromod on Sunday. The winning numbers were 8, 15, 16, 18. There was no jackpot winner. The following were our prize winners. €50 was won by Sarah Harte, Aughintass. €25 winners were: Ray Cox, Annaduff, Sean Moffatt, Drumard, Chloe O’Keefe, c/o John Cox, Antfield, Eileen Lavin, Mucklahan. Congratulations to our winners. Thanks to all who contributed. A special thanks to Eileen and T.P. for hosting the draw. The next Lotto Draw will be held in McLoughlins’, Drumsna, on Sunday, July 21st with a jackpot of €4,900.

BUILDING BLITZ PROJECT FUNDRAISER: 
Come along and enjoy a great nights dancing with prizes galore in The The Lough Allen Hotel, Drumshanbo on Thursday night next, 11th July. Music on the night will be provided by Carmel McLoughlin. The function starts at 9.30 and admission is €10. Please support this worthy cause. All proceeds on the night will be donated to local lads Gerry Quinlan and Gerry Philips who are heading to Kenya later this year to take part in a building blitz project. The lads are part of a three hundred strong group of volunteers who will be involved in building a school as education is the only way forward for the children of Kenya.
