Challenge Game: Drumreilly played host to Ballymahon in a challenge game in Carrickmakeegan on last Saturday evening. The absence of a full panel because of the good weather, farm-work, and other commitments forced the game to be played as a 13-a-side exercise at the end of which the home side emerged winners on a score of 4-15 to 1-8. The marksmen for Drumreilly were Brian Fee (1-3), Nigel Maguire (0-3), James Holahan (2-3), Ollie Maguire (0-1), Conor Gaffney (1-2), Damon Maguire (0-2) and Graeme Taylor (0-1).
Community Centre Meeting: There was an attendance of six at the monthly meeting of Drumreilly Community Centre Committee on Tuesday of last week. Chairman Tommy Connolly presided. The chief items discussed were repairs and Bingo. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday September 17th at 9.00 p.m.
U-14 Championship: Garadice Gaels will be meeting the following teams in the U-14 Championship on dates as follows: Fenagh (July 12th), St. Mary’s (July 26th), Manorhamilton (August 2nd.), Mohill (August 9th) and Dromahair (August 16th).
U-12 Game: Gortletteragh proved too strong for Garadice Gaels in their U-12 League game in Aughawillan on Monday of last week. The panel was Síomha Quinn, Brian Stringer (0-3), Aoife Mannion, Megan Lavin, Owen Shanley (0-1), Ella Quinn, Seán Prior (1-0), Harvey Meakin (1-2), Evonne Quinn and Oisín Conefrey.
Recalling July 1991: Drumreilly collected two League points with a 1-9 to 0-3 win over St. Mary’s, and negotiated the first Championship with a 1-10 to 1-6 victory over Cloone. The U-12s beat Kiltubrid and Aughnasheelin, and were beaten by Carrigallen, and the U-14s beat Annaduff and Gortletteragh. The annual Parish Sports was held. Congratulations were in order for John and Peggy McGirl with the birth of their baby daughter. St. Mary’s Band performed at the close of the Tostal in Drumshanbo and Áras Breifne Garden Fete in Manorhamilton Excavation and pipe-laying were in progress in the Lisnatullagh area as Derrygoan residents were to be linked up to the Leitrim Regional Water Scheme. The death took place of Crucklahan-born Miss Nell Armstrong. R. I. P.
Cemetery Sunday: On Sunday July 21st the graves in Drumlea and Ardunsaghan cemeteries will be blessed following Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Drumlea.
