Fenagh Community Afterschool: Fenagh Community Afterschool is now enrolling for September 2013. We cater for children of primary school age. We also provide places under the CCS and CET schemes. We open Mon-Fri 1.45 to 5.45 in line with the primary school calender. If you wish to enrol your child you can call into the afterschool which has relocated to Gorvagh Community Centre or phone the afterschool leader Sandy on 0870646080. A summer camp/day out will be held towards the end of August. All children of primary school age are welcome to attend. There will be a small charge for this. Fenagh Visitor Centre: Fenagh Visitor Centre is open all year round - (Heritage Centre, Indoor Children’s Play Area, Dolmen Café, Hall rental/meeting space). Opening hours this week: Monday Aug 12th to Friday Aug 17th 10.00-5.30pm and Sat/Sunday Aug 18th and 19th 12-5.30pm. Fenagh Heritage Week – Aug 17th-25th: Heritage Week takes place from Aug 17-25th throughout the country. We are running a series of talks, demonstrations and other activities to showcase Fenagh’s rich heritage, history and culture during that week. Anybody wishing to showcase their local products or skills during that week please make contact with the Centre. Here is sample of what will be on offer, further details to follow. Sat & Sun Aug 17/18th – “A Taste of Fenagh” - local Fenagh products, skills and crafts fair from 1-4pm both days. Monday Aug 19th 8.30pm – “Fenagh 100 Years Ago” – Fr Liam Kelly will be giving a talk and slideshow on Fenagh history over the past 100 years. Wednesday Aug 21st 8.30pm - “John McGahern and the Fenagh connection”. Frank Brennan will give a talk on the life and works of John McGahern with a special showing of the documentary “John McGahern - A Private World” and readings from his books
Children’s Camp Mon-Wed Aug 19-21st 10am-2pm ( 4-10 yrs): Activities will include learning about different flowers, animals and birds local to Fenagh and using them in art projects, clay modelling, painting and drawing, exploring music and dance local to Fenagh, storytelling and lots more fun activities. Places limited - €10 daily.
