Mary Jane Faughnan
(Comiskey): It was with genuine regret I learned of the death of Mary Jane Faughnan, Aughintass, Aughamore, Carrick-on-Shannon who died in the tender care of the doctors, nurses and staff at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Longford on June 20th 2013. Sadly she was predeceased by her husband Tommy and son Seamus. RIP. Maura as she was most affectionately known was a most devoted wife, mother, sister, granny and neighbour. A lady of deep faith whose gentleness and guidance will be forever remembered by the many customers she served while Post Mistress as Aughamore Post Office. The very large attendance at her home and removal to the church of the Immaculate Conception, Drumsna and again at her Requiem concelebrated Mass at which her son Fr. Cathal, brother Fr. Cathal Comiskey were the Chief Celebrants. The Mass was a celebration of Maura’s life and the beautiful music aded to the solemnity of this sad occasion. Following the ceremony, her burial took place in Annaduff Cemetery. Our sympathies are with her sons, daughter, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sister, brothers, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law and their extended families. “People will walk in and out of your life but only loved ones will leave footprints in your heart”. “Go raibh aici i measc na naomh”. “Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis”.
