Ballinamore meeting hears progress report on new school

On Tuesday night, January 27, two representatives from the Public Private Partnership met with the Principals, Trustee, Staff, BOM, Parents' Association, parents, pupils, grandparents, neighbours, business people, political representatives, who thronged into Ballinamore Community Centre to hear about the new school.

Considering that this was the 9th Public Meeting since Octboer 2006, there was a very large attendance and it sent a strong message that the people of Ballinamore and surrounding areas were totally interested in the provision of a new Community School.

Maria Grogan outlined very clearly the stages which will eventually lead to the completion of the new school in late 2012.

Those in attendance questioned many aspects of the process and had their questions clearly answered.

Although people are disappointed that we still have to wair four more years, in general it was a very positive meeting.

"We now look forward to seeing this project progress and generate much needed employment in the area during the building stages," said Maureen Martin, Chairperson of Ballinamore PPS Parents' Association.
