Boyle man leads bed push for Irish Cancer Society
Boyle resident, Paul Condon, is calling on people to dig deep this weekend with a funraising bed push from Boyle to Carrick-on-Shannon and back to Boyle this Saturday, September 4.
The fundraising event, which covers 32km, aims to raise much needed fund for the Irish Cancer Society.
Speaking with the Leitrim Observer in the lead up to the event, Paul explained that he had decided to raise funds for this special charity because most people will either be affected or have someone close to them, affected by cancer.
"I believe it's a worthy charity and the Irish Cancer society does excellent work in cancer research and treatment," he pointed out.
Joining Paul for the the event will be 20 other sponsored walkers and there will be dedicated bucket collection points throughout the event.
Paul will be starting off - with his bed of course! - from the Crescent, Boyle at 9.30am on Saturday, September 4. He hopes to be in Carrick-on-Shannon some time between 12.30pm and 1pm where he will enjoy a well earned lunch break before making the return trek to Boyle.
So dig deep everyone in and around the Carrick-on-Shannon area this Saturday and do your bit for the Irish Cancer Society.
