It may be a year away before the celebrations get underway fully but news of Carrick-on-Shannon’s upcoming birthday celebrations were given a global preview recently when the website {http://www.irishcentral.com|Irishcentral.com} described the plans for next year as “epic.”

Details were given of the 400 celebrations which are due to get underway on St Patrick’s Day next year and continue for the remainder of the year with each month set to see a big headline event run alongside a number of smaller events.

The website carrickonshannon.ie has details of the events the town will be hosting over the course of the year including the Connacht Fleadh, Leirtim Roots Festival and a Leitrim Equation Concert which promises to be a real highlight of what is shaping up to be a memorable year.
