The Breffni Players announce Extra Date

Due to the phenomenal demand for tickets for the Breffni Players' production of 'Juno and The Paycock,' an extra date has been added to accommodate audiences. The dates that you can now come along to the play are Wednesday 18th to Sunday 22nd of April, the extra date added is Sunday night. Rehearsals are reaching fever pitch as we speak, this large cast are being steered under the creative direction of Angus Dunne.

Sean O'Casey's classic is absolutely timeless because it deals sensitively with the real grit of human fragility and 'man's inhumanity to man.' A rich mixture of comedy and tragedy, exposing the absurdity of armed political struggles when compared to the destruction of one ordinary family. The cast are a delightful mix of new and seasoned players. The last time The Breffni Players produced 'Juno and The Paycock' was in 1985 and as a reference to the Breffni Players' proud tradition of amateur drama we have used the original poster designed by Jeanette Dunne on both our posters and programme. If you look closely you may be able to recognize some people. Tickets available from The Dock on 071-9650828.

The Late Annie Kelly, Station Road, Carrick-on-Shannon and Kilfinane,

Co. Limerick

We regret to record the death of Annie (Margaret) Kelly formerly of Station Road, Carrick-on-Shannon which sad event occurred on Saturday, April 14th. Relict of the late Patrick (Paddy) Kelly, Station Road, well known cattle dealer in this area, Annie who had reached an advanced age, had been living in Kilfinane, Co. Limerick for the past number of years.

A native of Aughnasheelin, Co. Leitrim, Annie was proud of her Leitrim roots and visited there whenever she could. She is survived by her sons Anthony and Peter, daughters-in-law Geraldine and Liz, grandchildren Laura, Allyson, Aaron and Vanessa and all members of the extended Kelly family. Her removal took place from her sons residence (Kilfinane) on Sunday 15th April arriving at St. Michael's Church, Drumlion at 7pm. Regretted Death Of James (jim) Mc Naughton Dublin and Formerly

Carrick-on-Shannon

His many friends in Carrick-on-Shannon, where he spent his youth, learned with regret of the death of Jim which sad event occurred peacefully at his home surrounded by his family and friends on Friday, April 13th.

Son of the late Robin Mc Naughton, County Engineer, Leitrim circa the 1950's, 60's and early 70's, Jim was the eldest of a family of four, two boys and two girls, all of whom were extremely popular and were part of everything that was good for the area. Indeed many of the improvements that took place in the area during those years can be attributed to the vision and foresight of their dad.

Jim's removal took place to the Church of the Good Shepherd Churchtown on Saturday evening at 5pm. Following Mass on Monday 16th at 11am he was laid to rest in Bohernabreena Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Kay, loving family Michelle, Robin and Gerard, sisters Margaret and Patricia, brother Gerard, daughter-in-law Barbara, grandchildren Aoife and Sarah and Aunt Mary, cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends. To all of whom may we extend our sincerest sympathy. May he rest in peace.
