Carrigallen man, Andy Dunn, has created a unique trio of baby monitoring apps.

Carrigallen based company, Infinite Touch, has created a very unique trio of apps that help parents through pregnancy, childbirth and the first few months of a baby’s life.

Andy Dunn, Mullaghboy, Carrigallen owner and lead developer at the company told the Leitrim Observer that he created the apps Baby Feed Tracker Plus; Fetal Sleep Tracker and Contraction Tracker because he had been inspired by the birth of his first child, due this month.

“Initially I built the Fetal Sleep Tracker to track the sleep patterns of baby’s in the womb and followed this up with the Contraction Tracker which allows parents to be to track and chart contractions as they happen. But, I felt that there was an opportunity to develop a different app which would help parents to record things like baby feeds, nappy changes, sleep times, so I created Baby Feed Tracker Plus,” he explained adding that parents could even download information collated by the tracker and email a full list of statistics to, for instance, a health care worker, if there were any concerns over feeding or sleeping patterns.

“The response to all three has been pretty good so far. A lot of people are using apps to track things like food intake or exercising and so it makes sense to use to tracking baby information, especially as people are becoming so familiar with iphones and apps,” he added.

Andy has also worked with many other well known companies helping to develop their iPhone apps and most recently he developed the DoneDeal.ie iPhone app.

“I’m already working on another app at the moment. I think this is an area which has grown a lot and has a lot of potential. More and more people are using apps and with that there are gaps on the market for new apps as well.”

The Fetal Sleep Tracker app; Contraction Tracker app and Baby Feed Tracker Plus app are all available on the iTunes store.
