Decision on development by Westlife star deferred

An Bord Pleanala has announced that a decision regarding planning permission for a development by Westlife star Shane Filan's company, Shafin Developments, at Main Street, Dromahair has been deferred until June 16.

The application, which was met with strong local opposition, proposes to demolish the existing Breffni Centre hotel and function room and construct a supermarket, creche, outdoor play area, gym and a community room, was rejected last November by Leitrim County Council and that decision was subsequently appealed to An Bord Pleanala.

A decision had been expected last Thursday, May 21 after a decision on the application was originally deferred from April 16.
