Family Resource Centres launch 2009 results
Representatives of the 107 Family Resource Centres (FRC's) throughout Ireland recently launched the results of their 2009 work with Minister Pat Carey and local Political Representatives.
County Leitrim has two FRC's, namely Breffni FRC in Carrick-on-Shannon and Mohill Family Support Centre. Helena Golden, Project Coordinator at Breffni FRC attended the event and was delighted at the turnout as well as the actual facts and figures highlighted for 2009.
In particular, FRC's throughout Ireland recorded over 1 million visits by people to use FRC facilities and in particular, Breffni FRC in Carrick-on-Shannon recorded over 37,000 visits by people to use the centres facilities.
There were a further 280 visits by groups to use Breffni Facilities. In addition, 403 people completed Training, Education and Self Development programmes while 490 people were advised or given information by Breffni FRC.
Breffni FRC provides a wide and varying range of family based supports and services which include Youth Caf, Pre-School, After-School, Crche, NA, CoDA, Unemployment Programmes, Room Rental, Admin Services, Composting Centre, Allotments to Hire, Internet Access, Training and Education, Breast Feeding Support Group, English Language Support and much more.
