Fermanagh Council to quiz Quinn Group Management
Fermanagh District Council is to hear from the Senior Management of the Quinn Group this Thursday evening, January 17 about future plans to protect jobs within the company and to discuss the recent speculation about redundancies. There will also be an opportunity for councillors to question the management team about a range of other matters.
Sinn Féin Erne West Councillor Barry Doherty has welcomed the move saying that it is important that there is transparency in the actions of the company and that every effort is made to protect existing jobs and to further grow the company and create additional jobs in the local area.
He said, “As someone who lives in close proximity to the headquarters of the Quinn Group, I know many people who work within the company and are fearful of their long term job security.
“We are very concerned about the future of the Quinn Group and the potential of significant job losses if this continuing situation is not handled correctly. However, here may not be much that we, as a council, can achieve, but it is imperative that we try our best to represent the needs of all those who have an interest in this situation.”
