A special fundraiser will be held this Sunday in aid of the Alzheimer’s Unit at St Patrick’s Hospital, Carrick-on-Shannon.

We all wish to do our best for our loved ones who are affected by the growing problem of Alzheimer’s. Directly or indirectly all of us either know or are touched by this terrible illness.

Last Autumn, Patricia and Mary Molloy, from Knockvicar, arranged a number of fundraising events for the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland - based on a cycle event in Cuba, which they undertook.

Now as a follow-up to this and in co-operation with their relatives and friends in the Leitrim Village area, Eleanor Shanley together with Charlie McGettigan and local artists have kindly offered to perform a special fundraising night, in the new St. Joseph’s Resource Centre, beside the church in Leitrim Village, on Sunday, 24th February at 8pm.

Admission is €15 and there will also be a raffle for a selection of prizes. Tickets on sale in local shops and pubs in the village. All funds from this event will go to the Alzheimer’s Unit, St Patrick’s Hospital, Carrick-on-Shannon. All welcome for what promises to be a wonderful night’s entertainment in Leitrim Village.
