Gardai deny questioning man over Ballinamore arson attacks

Gardai in Ballinamore deny there was anyone taken in for questioning over the past week in connection with the recent two arson attacks on Meanscoil Fatima this year.

There was wide spread rumours over the weekend in the Ballinamore area that a young man in his 20s was taken in for questioning by the Gardai in connection with the two arson attacks on Ballinamore secondary school, which occurred on January 5 and May 20.

But Ballinamore Gardai told the Leitrim Observer that no one was taken in for questioning in relation to arson over the past week and they do not know where the reports stemmed from.

Gardai said there has been no recent development on the investigation into the two arson attacks on Meanscoil Fatima this year, but the investigation is still open and ongoing.

They also confirmed that there has also been no relative progress on the investigation into the arson attack on a private vehicle in Aughnasheelin on Monday morning, July 12.
