County Leitrim Peace III Partnership is in the process of implementing a number of projects under its Action Plan 2008 – 2010. This plan is funded by the European Union's European Regional Development Fund which is managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.

Projects taking place at the moment under aim one of the plan which is to counter religious and political sectarianism include supports for the protestant community, developing and running cross border and cross community arts-based events to challenge attitudes and support conflict resolution and research to assess the need in conflict resolution and mediation services.

Projects underway under aim two which is to address racism by a greater understanding and integration of diverse cultures include English and basic skills training to facilitate the integration of new residents into the community and access to employment, events for parents in childcare settings and schools to enable different communities to meet, research to identify those experiencing racism and to establish their issues and needs, arts-based projects and festival events as a means to explore and showcase other cultures and beliefs, support the integration of travellers by encouraging and challenging community and sporting organisations to become more open to members from the travelling community, cultural awareness and anti-bias training programmes in communities and workplaces to challenge the views of those who feel hostile to people of different nationalities and cultures and cross border anti racism training and networking programmes.

An outreach support programme for single isolated men and training to support their integration into the community/workplace and the promotion of greater integration and development in housing estates through a range of education, training and cultural awareness programmes are taking place under aim three of the plan which is to build the capacity of communities and target groups so as to enable positive relationships.
