Leitrim launches new tourism brand as one stop shop for visitors

A new tourism brand for county Leitrim was launched today to act as a one stop information shop for visitors to the county supporting the county's thriving tourism industry.

The new entity 'Leitrim – explore, experience, enjoy' is aimed at reaching out and providing a variety of informational portals to the wide variety of visitors both domestic and international who visit or are considering visiting the county in the future.

The central platform for 'Leitrim – explore, experience, enjoy' is its new website www.enjoyleitrim.com which is supported by social media profiles on both Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/leitrimtourism) and Twitter (@leitrimtourism).

The launch of the new tourism brand is also been supported through a focused national and regional radio and print advertising campaign during August and September.

Speaking on the launch of 'Leitrim – explore, experience, enjoy' Joe Dolan, Chairperson, Leitrim Tourism said, "We are delighted to officially launch the new brand. Over the last number of years Leitrim's tourism industry has competed very effectively both nationally and internationally and the redevelopment of our tourism brand is the most effective way to support our stakeholders in Leitrim tourism and of course the wide variety of visitors who come to Leitrim every year."

Members of the business and tourism community from across Leitrim are encouraged to engage with the new Leitrim Tourism brand, displaying it on their own individual websites and linking the site so that any traffic to Leitrim related websites will have one central point of information.

This initiative by Leitrim Tourism received grant aid fromthe Leitrim Development Company Rural Development Programme which is financed by the Irish Government under the Rural Development ProgrammeIreland 2007-2013 and by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development: Europe investing in Rural Areas.

"With the launch of 'Leitrim – explore, experience, enjoy ' we are encouraging all of these visitor audiences to visit our website or become fans/followers on Facebook and Twitter and learn a little bit more about Leitrim as a visitor destination.
