Mick O’Dwyer, renowned multi-All-Ireland winning manager and businessman will be the keynote speaker at the Leitrim County Development Board “Training and Further Education Expo and Seminar” on Thursday, March 1st in The Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon.

The event, geared at people who are currently unemployed or looking for retraining, is a free event which will bring together all the agencies involved in training and supports in one venue.

Mick O’Dwyer will be the keynote speaker at the event and will provide an insight into using the information gathered from both the standholders and other speakers to help you to take the next step in training, looking at a new career or setting up in business.

From 10.30am to 4.30pm, there will be an opportunity for people to meet on a one-one basis with agencies such as RoLe Skillnet, Adult Education Service of the VEC, Leitrim Development Company, Citizen’s Information Service, County Enterprise Board, MABS, Leitrim Energy Group, Department of Social Protection and colleges including: Athlone IT, Irish Academy of Public Relations. As well as the training side of the expo, there will also be details of jobs available in the region through Collins-McNicholls Recruitment Company which covers the West and North West.

In addition to having the chance to visit the stands of the agencies, people attending the event on March 1st can also sit in on the talks running for the morning alongside the Expo. Speakers will include Gerry Duffy. Gerry Duffy is a motivational speaker and self-employed business man best known for running 32 marathons in 32 days around Ireland as well as winning the inaugural UK DECA Enduroman Event in 2011.
