Moone Boy scoops ‘Best Entertainment’ award

David Rawle picks up the IFTA Moone Boy won for Best Entertainment at the weekend. David plays Martin Moone one of the main charachters in the hilarious Sky One comedy.

Carrigallen star David Rawle joined Chris O’Dowd at the Irish Film and Television Awards last weekend to pick up ‘Best Entertainment Programme’ for Moone Boy.

Rawle stepped up on stage to lift the award after mixing with A listers on the red carpet before the event.

Moone Boy bet off huge competition from Mrs Brown’s Boys, The Savage Eye and The Voice of Ireland to scoop the Best Entertainment Award at the glitzy IFTAs.

Chris O’Dowd made sure to mention Boyle in his acceptance speech, part of filming for Series 1 and 2 was in Boyle and it is expected that series 3 will also visit the town. Filming and editing of Moone Boy Series 2 is complete and the series is ready for transmission, this Autumn. Chris and his co-writer Nick Murphy are currently scripting Series 3.

Tweeting after the event Chris O’Dowd said “Wonderful night for Moone Boy at the #iftas. Although the ceremony was so long, Amy Huberman wasn’t even pregnant when it started.”
