Quinn and Lagan drop joint venture proposal
Quinn Group
The joint venture proposed between Quinn Building Products Ltd and Lagan Cement Group Ltd will not be proceeding according to a statement issued to the Leitrim Observer this week.
In late December of last year, the two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the possibility of a Joint Venture involving certain of their cement and building product businesses.
The Statement noted that discussions have now concluded and “both companies have decided not to progress further with the proposed Joint Venture”.
The news comes just a few weeks after it emerged that a rifle bullet was sent to Lagan Chief Executive, Kevin Lagan, at his Belfast Office.
The bullet was accompanied by a message which read: “Quinn ... is this what you want”. The matter was reported to the PSNI for further investigation.
