Register your septic tank now
Sligo/North Leitrim TD Tony McLoughlin.
At the end of this month the charge for Septic Tank registration will increase to €50 from the current fee of €5 and Fine Gael Deputy, Tony McLoughlin is urging people to register before the end of September.
Under new legislation any home owner who is connected to a domestic waste water system must register their systems before next year. Last Spring the Minister proposed a reduced fee of €5 which will only stand until the end of this month when the fee will then be €50 which must be paid on or before February 1st 2013.
“I believe the Minister and his officials struck a good deal on behalf of people who are not connected to the public waste water system and it is important that people register in the first place and in particular to register before September 28th to ensure that they save €45,” urged Deputy McLoughlin.
