Rugby hero Brian O'Driscoll and Amy Huberman to get married in Leitrim

Leitrim has been chosen as the select and intimate location for next year's Wedding of the Year between Ireland's rugby hero Brian O'Driscoll and his glamorous fiancée Amy Huberman.

The dashing couple who have been dating since early 2007 and who got engaged in March, a few days after O'Driscoll captained Ireland to an historic Grand Slam victory this year, revealed Leitrim as the location for their "low key" wedding celebrations at the weekend.

It is understood that the couple did have a look at the popular Clonturk Church, Dromod for their ceremony, which had up to 17 ceremonies linked with Lough Rynn Castle this year but deemed the picturesque church too small for their wedding mass.

There were local rumours that St Joseph's Church, Aughavas had been chosen as the sanctuary for the golden couple to celebrate their nuptials but Fr Sam Holmes, Parish Priest of Cloone and Aughavas told the Leitrim Observer "no contact has been made."

Fr Holmes said he would welcome the couple to celebrate their wedding in Aughavas and there would be no difficulty in arranging a date and the ceremony, but he has not yet been approached with such a request.

Lough Rynn Castle, Mohill has confirmed the couple will celebrate their wedding at the former home of Lord Leitrim in the beautifully restored castle hotel and grounds.

The couple are keeping tight-lipped about the date of the wedding next year although we do know it will be a summer event. It is believed that Ireland's top celebrity couple chose Lough Rynn Castle for it's stunning grounds and remote secluded location.

Clement Gaffney, Lough Rynn Hotel Group Director said, "We are delighted that Amy and Brian have decided to stay in Ireland for their wedding and that they have selected Lough Rynn for their special day.

"Since we opened for business in June 2006 we have delivered top quality service to all of our guests and this is the same standard of excellence that we will offer to Amy and Brian to ensure that their wedding is a magical and memorable occasion."
