Leitrim’s very own Supermac’s in Carrick-on-Shannon has beaten off stiff competition from hundreds of excellent Irish Restaurant’s in their bid to go for gold at this year’s National Q Mark Awards.

The prestigious nomination will see Enda McGovern, the Restaurant’s owner and his team donning their tuxedos and evening gowns to be photographed by the paparazzi, as they walk the red carpet at this year’s star-studded Q Mark ceremony, which takes place on September 28th at Dublin’s Burlington Hotel.

At last week’s announcement of finalists at EIQA House in Dublin, the team from Supermac’s were being tipped as being the hot contenders to win one of the most prestigious categories; The Q Mark Award for Hygiene and Food Safety in the category for Fast Service Restaurants, having also been nominated last year. The award honours Restaurants for their achievement in being recognised as having the highest standard of Hygiene and Food Safety in the country.

Supermac’s in Carrick-on-Shannon was opened in 2004 and are proud to be part of the largest indigenous brand in the quick service sector. As a supporter of the local community they are delighted to offer employment to twenty people from the local area and endeavour to offer a wide menu to suit all tastes.

The Q Mark is recognised by a staggering 87% of Irish consumers as guaranteeing us with services of the highest standards of quality and excellence, so we should be very proud to have Supermac’s named in these prestigious awards, as it is a testament to the hard work and commitment they show us, their customers.

They can be sure that we will be lending them our total support for the final in Dublin, on September 28, as we already consider them to be a Leitrim winner for being named amongst those at the top of The ‘Q’.
