It has proved a great success and this year promises to be no different. The weather gods have been petitioned, “Old Moore” has given it “good to fine” and the Met. Office has predicted a “fine” summer’s day. So if you are in the area it is worth a visit.

The internationally renowned “Garda Band” shall be headlining again this year with support by local up and coming band “The Cats Meow” The Garda Band was established shortly after the establishment of An Garda Síochána. It gave its first public performance on Dun Laoghaire Pier on Easter Monday, 1923.The Band undertakes a heavy community-orientated programme each year performing at schools, festivals and sporting events.

The Band has travelled to many international events and has represented the country on a number of occasions at police festivals and concerts in Switzerland, Germany and Northern Ireland. With qualifications like that, it would be a shame to miss them.

For those who would like to take a pleasant boat trip around the lovely settings of lough Rinn, there shall be boat trips provided by RSDAC boat owners.

If the various oracles and trusted scientists get it wrong about the weather, I have no doubt in my mind that the pig so kindly sponsored by Kiernan’s of Ballinagore and expertly slow cooked on the spit by Pat Conefrey of Aughavas shall get a bit of a roasting and topped off with a bit of apple sauce in a warm bap of a Sunday afternoon what could taste better?

Its probably important to mention that all food shall be free which could not happen without the support of all the businesses in Mohill and surrounds. The club wants to extend its thanks for their continued support.
