MEP Marian Harkin cuts the ribbon to open new offices for Gilmartin Insurances in Manorhamilton.

Gilmartin Insurances, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, has moved from Main Street to Old Church Street, Manorhamilton. More than 150 customers, friends and business people attended the launch party in a marquee outside the premises..

In declaring the offices open, Marian spoke affectionately about her memories of the founder of the business, her uncle Thomas Gilmartin and his wife, Anna. She also commented on how pleasing it is to see a business developing in these challenging times. Also present were TDs Tony McLoughlin and Michael Colreavy.

Others to speak were Brendan Gilmartin, son of founder Thomas, Mary Gilmartin, her son Stephen Gilmartin, who has created new art work for the offices, and John Gilmartin.

John said: “It was lovely to welcome so many customers, friends and relatives to our new premises.”
