ConnectIreland has encouraged the people of Leitrim to use their connections to create new jobs in Ireland.
The initiative, which will provide the people of Leitrim with the opportunity to earn a reward if they can make an introduction to internationally expanding companies that will subsequently invest and create sustainable jobs in Ireland.
A connector who successfully introduces a company to Ireland, through using family contacts and friends that creates new jobs, will be paid a minimum of €1,500 per job, up to a maximum of 100 jobs. The reward is payable over two years and once the introduction is made, ConnectIreland’s team of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) specialists will begin talks with the company and explain why Ireland is the best business location for expanding companies.
Last week, ConnectIreland ran an information night at the Lough Allen Hotel and Spa in Dumshanbo. Alan Gallagher, Business Development Manager at ConnectIreland gave a presentation to the large crowd in attendance. Mr Gallagher said the interest on the night was encouraging, with representatives from several different Leitrim groups in attendance including members of Leitrim County Council, Leitrim Sports Partnership and Leitrim Community Forum. Mr Gallagher was encouraged by the events of the evening and said: “We had a great evening in Drumshanbo with many people from many different organisations turning up. The purpose of the evening was to make the people of Leitrim aware of the initiative and how you can help the recovery of the local and national economy through word of mouth and through who you know.” ConnectIreland also plans to return to the area soon: “We will look to return to Leitrim in the near future as the response we received was very encouraging,” Niall concluded.
